We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Digital team at Greggs as a Digital Product Owner – Greggs App to support Greggs in continuing to develop its Apple and Android Mobile Apps. The Product Owner – Greggs App will help support the development team in delivering exciting new features such as Rewards, Click and Collect and Gifting designed to help improve our digital and physical in-shop experience and make sure our customers receive an exceptional digital experience.
This critical role will act as the key interface into the teams internal and external stakeholders including the Greggs Digital team, IT/Technology, Customer, Business Leads and third-party partner agencies to ensure our Mobile App products can enable our customers to engage with Greggs in a fast, friendly and frictionless way every day.
The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile product development team and is responsible for ensuring that all features are prioritised according to business value, deliver a consistent Customer experience and help deliver Greggs wider business strategy and objectives.
We are looking for candidates with existing experience in delivering iOS and Android Mobile Apps in an agile product development environment. You will have a naturally customer-first approach and be focused on bringing a frictionless customer experiences to life.
You will have a strong, data-led mindset and will take an empirical approach to driving effective prioritisation within the backlog with the overall goal of making our digital experiences as fast, frictionless and engaging as possible for our customers.

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
- We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
- Our working hours are usually Monday-Friday, you may be required to work alternative hours to fulfil business needs and work in multiple team and agency locations across a working week.
- The base location for this role is Newcastle Upon Tyne
What you'll do
-
Working with the leads of Digital team and various wider cross functional teams, you will own creation and management of detailed User Stories that help turn requirements into reality - and ultimately deliver an exciting roadmap of features to build best-in-class Mobile App products.
- Working closely with Scrum Masters, technical leads and IT development teams to ensure we develop, refine and prioritise the backlog of work that will deliver innovative end-to-end features for Customers.
- Work with UX/UI and User Research resources to ensure Customers are always engaged in our research and ensure we research, test and deliver appropriate designs.
- Act as a key interface into Product Owners in other development team to make sure we share our dependencies and collectively align on what is needed to deliver best-in-class products to customers in our shops.
- Help review, approve and support the development team to present completed work at the end of each sprint to key stakeholders; you will ensure feedback is fed back into the team’s plans. detailed user stories and estimation.
- Pursue business value in an empirical way ensuring there is accurate monitoring of results and adjusting strategy and tactics based upon performance.
- Work closely with other teams such as CRM team and wider digital team to help deliver Greggs’ overall Digital roadmap and ensure the capabilities needed to deliver the key priorities of the business are done.
- Work closely with Colleagues in Customer Care to continually optimise how customers are served through digital channels
About you
We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:
- Can demonstrate experience in delivering iOS and Android Mobile Apps in an agile product development environment.
- Experience of working in a product-owner/product focused role.
- Highly experienced and comfortable in working cross functionally, facilitating and collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups to reach consensus on the scope of product features and their priorities.
- Able to demonstrate an ability to represent the voice of our customers whilst balancing the commercial needs of the business and its various stakeholders.
- Technically literacy and working understanding of architecture, SDK implementation and cloud services relevant to mobile App development.
- Experience in owning the end-to-end feature delivery workstreams as part of an agreed long-term strategic roadmap.
- Up to speed on the latest digital trends in areas such as CRM and Data/Insight in order to help de-risk delivery of our wider product portfolio alongside our technology and digital leadership teams.
- Thrive working within a dynamic environment and are adept at adapting when priorities change.
- Experience in working closely with technology teams to produce world-class digital products.
- An ability to balance both tactical and strategic product requirements on a daily basis as needed in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Have a positive, proactive, hands-on style and would enjoy contributing towards building an adaptive, fun and creative environment for digital delivery in Greggs.
- A data-led technical mindset that is comfortable working with different types of data.
