We are seeking a Digital Product Owner – Group Websites to support Greggs in continuing to develop its suite of websites across its wider group. You will help support a variety of internal teams in continually evolving their websites and delivering innovative new features to make sure our customers and key stakeholders receive an exceptional digital experience.

Working across Greggs.co.uk, our Corporate, Careers site and more, this critical role will act as the key interface into a variety of internal and external stakeholders including the Greggs Digital team, IT/Technology, Customer, Business Leads and third-party partner agencies to ensure our group of websites can support how our customers, employees and corporate stakeholders to engage with Greggs in a fast, friendly and frictionless way.

The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile product development team and is responsible for ensuring that all of the Group Websites features and their content support requirements are prioritised according to our wider Greggs business strategy and objectives.

We are looking for candidates with existing experience in delivering best-in-class websites in an agile product development environment. You will have a customer-first approach and up to speed on the latest best practice in terms of accessibility, SEO and UX/UI.

You will also have strong, data-led mindset and be comfortable using an empirical approach to driving effective prioritisation of the backlog, with the overall goal of making our website experiences as fast, frictionless and engaging as possible for different customer groups.

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • Our working hours are usually Monday-Friday, you may be required to work alternative hours to fulfil business needs and work in multiple team and agency locations across a working week.
  • The base location for this role is Newcastle Upon Tyne

What you'll do

  • Working with the leads of the Digital team and various wider cross functional teams you will own creation and management of detailed User Stories to help turn user requirements into reality and deliver a roadmap of exciting features – all of which will lead to best-in-class websites.

 

  • Working closely with Scrum Masters, technical leads and IT development teams to ensure we develop, refine and prioritise the backlog of work that will deliver exciting end-to-end features for our different customer and stakeholder groups.
  • Working with other members of the Digital team, ensure best practice in terms of Accessibility and SEO is implemented on all Group Websites.
  • Work with UX/UI and User Research resources to ensure Customers are engaged to ensure we research, test and deliver appropriate visual designs.
  • Act as a key interface into other Product Owners and Development Team leads to make sure dependencies are shared and we collectively align on what is needed to deliver best-in-class products to different Customer groups online.
  • Help review and approve work in order to help the development teams present completed work at the end of each sprint to key stakeholders. You will ensure feedback is fed back into the team’s plans, detailed user stories and estimations.
  • Pursue business value in an empirical way ensuring there is accurate monitoring of results and adjust our product strategy based upon performance.
  • Work closely the wider digital team to help deliver Greggs’ overall Digital roadmap and the capabilities needed delivered the key priorities of the business.
  • Work closely with Colleagues in Customer Care to continually optimise how customers are served through digital channels.

 

About you

We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:

  • Experience of working in a web related product-owner/product focused role, delivering a variety of end-consumer, recruitment and corporate websites.
  • Experience in working closely with technology teams to produce world-class digital products.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in delivering website work in an agile product development environment, including expertise in implementing the highest accessibility standards, UX/UI and SEO best practice.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to represent the voice of our customers whilst balancing the commercial needs of the business and its various stakeholders.
  • Technical literacy and working understanding of architecture, cloud services and 3rd party tools relevant to Website development.
  • Up to speed on the latest digital trends in order to help de-risk delivery of our wider product portfolio.
  • Thrive working within a dynamic environment and are adept at adapting when priorities change.
  • An ability to balance both tactical and strategic product requirements on a daily basis as needed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience in owning the end-to-end feature delivery workstreams as part of an agreed long-term strategic roadmap.
  • Have a positive, proactive, hands-on style and would enjoy contributing towards building an adaptive, fun and creative environment for digital delivery in Greggs.
  • Highly experienced and comfortable in working cross functionally, facilitating and collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups to reach consensus on the scope of product features and their priorities.
  • A data-led technical mindset that is comfortable working with different types of data, including ideally exposure to A/B or MVT Testing.
