We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join us here at Greggs.  

In this role you’ll maximise commercial value by shaping and optimising promotions across all customer channels, providing financial insight and forward-looking analysis to drive incremental sales, protect margin and support our wider commercial strategy.

About the role

  • This is a full-time role
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role is Newcastle Upon Tyne

What you'll do

  • Partner with Commercial and Customer Directors and their senior teams to shape and optimise promotional strategy across all channels
  • Assess the end‑to‑end financial impact of promotions, including incremental sales, margin impact and overall return on investment
  • Act as the Finance expert on customer data, sharing best practice across the wider Finance team
  • Work cross-functionally to understand the impact of promotions on sales, marginand profitability. Provide financial challenge and support on all new and existing promotions and evaluating their performance
  • Ensuring accurate weekly and monthly forecasting and reporting
  • Support the Pricing Manager with supplier funding for promotions and price changes where relevant
  • Deliver analysis that highlights risks, opportunities, behavioural trends and commercial levers to improve performance
  • Develop and enhance reporting for growing channels such as the App and B2B increasing their visibility and insight
  • Produce high‑quality business cases with clear assumptions, commercial rationale and expected returns
  • Collaborate across Finance, BI and B2B teams to define KPIs, shape strategy, support contract commercials and ensure performance issues are understood and addressed

About you

You will fit right into this role if you: 

  • Are a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least three years post-qualified experience
  • Are commercially astute and recognised as a trusted finance expert with strong judgement and the ability to challenge constructively
  • Communicate clearly and influence effectively, simplifying complex data and shaping decisions with clear commercial insight
  • Take a proactive, opportunity‑led approach — spotting trends early andidentifyingcommercial levers to drive profitable sales
  • Have excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Can collaborate effectively across functions and have experience influencing at Director level
  • Bring advanced IT skills, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams. SQL experience is desirable.
  • Are self‑motivated, able to work under pressure, and comfortable using your own initiative
