We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Shop Maintenance team here at Greggs as Head of Shop Maintenance to lead and manage a multi discipline team to deliver strategic business objectives, specifically in Shop Maintenance and maintaining the estate across the UK.

  • 25 days (5 weeks) annual leave, pro-rated, increasing with service (in addition to bank holidays), plus 1 additional floating day

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you'll do

Planning

  • Lead, plan and organise team activity with an appreciation of longer-term challenges, ensuring plans compliment and feed into the broader operational and strategic plans.
  • Consult, Advise and Influence at senior levels within the business, in maintaining our shops across the brand.

Operational Excellence

  • Takes lead responsibility for managing maintenance programme including presenting budgets and operational schedules.
  • Leads the development and succession plans for team members to meet current and future skills needs.
  • Contribute to achieving ECO Shop roll-out and targets set within the Greggs pledge
  • Updates the Investment Board and Ops board on progress throughout the year on performance and spend.

Equipment

  • Continually reviews the market and develops opportunities to suggest revised specifications, using innovation and generating new ideas.

Team Management

  • Leads Central Maintenance Team in line with the values promoting a culture of customer focus, achievement and responsibility
  • Manages resource planning within the department to ensure maximum value is delivered and contribute to resource planning in linked teams.
  • Participates in business wide working groups, and influences as appropriate e.g Food Safety
  • Identifies new ways of working/scheduling to achieve further savings by increasing efficiency

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensures that our Health & Safety systems and culture are strong and seen as market leading.
  • Ensures the Purchasing team are fully integrated and working towards the same strategic goals.
  • Works closely with external partners to ensure working practices and specifications are up to date.

Financial Control

  • Responsible for budget planning and delivery and continually looks for cost saving initiatives across the entire scope of works.
  • Drives the integration of new system tools and ways of working within the department to achieve efficiencies and reduced timescales.
  • Identifies new ways of working/scheduling to achieve further savings by increasing efficiency.
  • Ensures the Purchasing team are fully integrated and working towards the same strategic goals.

About you

We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in Facilities Manager role or similar.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Has experience of managing and delivering a significant budgetary responsibility
  • Ability to think about the wider picture and make sound decisions.
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior management.
  • Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
  • Extensive vocational experience
