We have a fantastic opportunity to join the IT & Business Change team at Greggs as Head of Technology Enterprise Services at a pivotal time in our ongoing transformation journey.
You will be accountable for Greggs’ Enterprise Services landscape, supporting approximately 33,000 colleagues across Retail, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and central functions at Greggs House. In doing so, you will lead the teams within three key pillars of our technology strategy and operating model:
- Technology Portfolio Management and Governance
- SAP Delivery and Operations
- Business Solutions (which includes enterprise integration and the line of business systems that augment SAP)
Additionally, you will be accountable for the successful upgrade of our current SAP solution to SAP S4 on time and budget.
Reporting to the IT & Business Change Director, you will be part of the senior technology leadership team comprising the Head of Technology Enterprise Services (this role), Head of Technology Engineering, Head of Data and AI and Head of Technology Business Services.

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you'll do
Working together with the IT&BC leadership team, you will support the delivery of high quality, technology services whilst coordinating the technology change agenda in support of Greggs’ strategic goals.
The role provides strategic and operational leadership to the Enterprise Services teams, including SAP technology, SAP functional, enterprise integration, and the wider ecosystem of line of business systems. A key initial priority is to guide these teams through the successful delivery of the SAP S/4HANA upgrade, ensuring it meets required quality standards, timescales, and budget. Beyond this, the role retains ongoing accountability for the performance, optimisation, and resilience of enterprise systems that underpin our business operations.
In parallel, the role leads Technology Portfolio Management and Governance, bringing visibility to business technology demand across IT&BC. This includes ensuring effective investment decisions, clear governance, and alignment between business priorities, delivery capacity, and strategic outcomes across a complex and growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technology professionals
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT & BC department
- Collaborate with senior business stakeholder to align IT strategies with business goals
- Align with the IT&BC senior leadership on business priorities
- Ensure departmental budgets are managed effectively
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement IT strategies and roadmaps to support the organisation’s objectives
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance business operations
- Manage the IT budget and ensure cost-effective solutions
Service Delivery:
- Oversee the delivery of core IT services, including infrastructure, applications, and support
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of core IT systems
- Align with key business stakeholders on relevant SLAs
- Ensure teams develop and manage customer focussed services in line with Greggs IT service management principles and processes
- Own the relationship with key strategic partners
Portfolio/Programme Management:
- Own the coordination of Portfolio activity across the organisation to ensure demand and capacity are visible and aligned
- Own the delivery of key IT projects from inception to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, quality and within budget
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments
About you
We are looking for experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role with a background of large-scale enterprise solutions delivery/management
- A background knowledge of Supply Chain/Manufacturing a distinct advantage
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, and service management.
- Knowledge of security best practices
