We have a fantastic opportunity to join the IT and Business Change team at Greggs and really help to asset manage the IT estate. Initially focusing on IT Hardware we expect to see this expand to cover Software Asset Management. Working on both an investigative and preventative capacity you will need to ensure compliance with our IT asset management and will be expected to ensure an accurate and comprehensive inventory is maintained.

With an estate exceeding 2300 shops and a desire to achieve 3000 in the next 4years, 14 Supply sites and Head Office we are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated person who will take control of the existing assets and provide strategy, control and reporting on our estate across the landscape. With a keen desire to bring our retail, manufacturing and logistics hardware into a more streamlined, visible and optimised position this is an exciting opportunity to help deliver change into the organisation.

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role is Greggs Innovate House, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EW. Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area

What you'll do

  • Taking a strategic overview, establish, refresh and/or monitor policies and procedures for tracking IT assets.
  • You will be responsible for developing and embedding IT asset management policies, procedures and disciplines.
  • Maintain an accurate record of hardware assets and utilisation so that we can ensure value for money in what we buy and minimise device losses.
  • In collaboration with the wider IT & Business Change function, drive continuous improvement to support strategy, optimisation and investment.
  • Undertake estate audits and the provision of management reports / analysis
  • Responsible for managing device lifecycles and implementing a life cycle strategy in line with our lifecycle policy.
  • Utilising the device lifecycle and visibility of the assets you will explore and recommend opportunities for maximising the IT assets (e.g. consolidation, re-allocation, WEEE management)
  • Manage and support CIS Security controls requirements in collaboration with the security team to cover Inventory and Control of enterprise and software assets.
  • Assist in creating hardware forecasts and creating recommended minimum / maximum stock levels for both the business and external partners.
  • Liaise with project teams and external partners to maintain visibility of orders / installations and stock levels to ensure all devices are accounted for.

About you

You will fit right into this role if you have:

  • Experience of establishing and maintaining an Asset Management solution.
  • Knowledge of IT hardware and software asset management and associated tools / systems.
  • Proven experience of obtaining stakeholder engagement and implementing change.
  • Are self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and using own initiative.
  • Have proven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience of Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentational, written and organisational skills.
  • The ability to think logically, overcome problems and interpret and present key data in a way that can be understood by different stakeholder groups.

You may also have:

  • Experience of working in a food to go / retail business environment
  • ITIL experience or similar service management experience.
