About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role is the Balliol siteIdeally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area

What you'll do

  • Provide an effective and responsive sickness absence case management service that contributes to the Company’s policy regarding effective management and reduction of sickness absence
  • Effectively conduct fitness for work assessments with new starters when required, providing advice to managers where needed regarding possible adjustments
  • Provide specialist advice to employees and managers during periods of ill health and / or sickness absence along with detailed reports summarising recommendations and advice in accordance with best practice and legislation.  Where appropriate liaise and refer to the retained OHP
  • Provide advice and recommendations to managers where an employee’s health is impacting on their ability to perform tasks or where tasks are impacting on an employee’s health
  • Support with health surveillance and base line screening activities as required to ensure legal compliance and in accordance with Health surveillance matrix
  • Work closely with SHE and operational managers to assess and advise on specific work hazards and work-related health issues
  • Attend supply sites in accordance with agreed timeframes and as required to support with health-related issues
  • Encourage health and wellbeing of all employees through advice and health promotion campaigns in accordance with the health and wellbeing programme
  • Protect confidential information and employee confidentiality
  • Ensure OH records are accurate, secure and kept up to date
  • Maintain up to date professional and legislative knowledge and standards through a programme of continuous development

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • At least 2 years’ OH experience

  • Are a strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels

  • Can demonstrate a proven ability to provide excellence in customer service

  • Have proven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Are results focused with strong planning, prioritising and organisation skills

  • Excellent IT and communication skills

  • Driving licence and ability to travel between supply sites

  • Case management experience

  • Experience of working in the food industry and a degree or an equivalent qualification in OH is preferred
  • Are supportive of an inclusive culture – recognising and valuing that difference is good
