We are seeking a Platform and Infrastructure Specialist to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Supply and Head Office Connectivity product team, to support Greggs in replacing our current connectivity approaches and architecture with a cloud-centric connectivity platform, focused upon high levels of performance, resilience, and security, to ensure a robust and business aligned connectivity service to our internal colleagues.

About the role

  • This is a full-time based role based at Greggs Innovate House, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EW

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Are passionate about using technology to best achieve business objectives and improve services. 

  • Have extensive experience of core networking technologies, including routing and switching, internet access approaches, VLSM, and VPN.

  • Have experience in wireless LAN technologies and implementations, particularly Cisco Aironet.

  • Have experience in firewalling technologies, firewall policy implementation, and overall firewall management - Cisco and Palo Alto firewall experience would be particularly beneficial.

  • Have a strong understanding in one or more of the following technologies: SDWAN approaches and methods, network access control technologies, remote access technologies.

  • Experience in working with service providers for WAN and internet connectivity.

  • Have a proactive can-do attitude and will enjoy contributing towards an adaptive, fun and creative environment 

  • Have experience of building trust and highly effective working relationships with a diverse range of technical and none technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation 

 

It would be advantageous if you had any of the following: 

  • Experience of IaC technologies, such as Ansible and Terraform.

  • Experience in Cisco aligned products, especially any of the following: Catalyst products, Cisco Catalyst/DNA Centre, Cisco SASE solutions such as Secure Access, Viptela.

  • Experience of Azure networking, particularly WAN/VPN and other connectivity approaches.

  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
