We have an exciting opportunity for a Pricing & Promotions Analyst to join our growing Category and Wholesale team in Newcastle.

Working with our Pricing and Promotions Manager you will play a key role in planning, analysing and measuring our promotional performance across our channels including delivery- providing recommendations to optimise our promotional plan and drive our brand value and key business objectives. You will work cross-functionally to provide support in unlocking promotional investment within our supply base and through our key partners alongside our Marketing and Procurement teams.

Supporting the Pricing and Promotions Manager and Head of Category you will work to drive promotional profitability and trading margin working with our finance business partners to track promotional spend.

As our pricing & promotions analyst you will lead on the development and delivery of regular reporting, analysis, and insight to senior stakeholders. You will translate complex commercial analysis into simple, actionable insights to drive the implementation and monitoring of the value and commercial strategies.

Pricing & Promotions is a unique and exciting area. You may have demonstrable experience from a Price & Promotions background, but Procurement, Category Management, Commercial Finance or Trade Planning may have given you transferable skills to succeed. Is this you?

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

  • The base location for this role is Greggs House. Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area

What you'll do

  • Carrying out detailed analysis to determine the impact of our promotional campaigns across our channels working closely with the Category Planning Managers, Marketing Leads and Delivery Leads
  • Managing the calendar of promotions across the business and ensuring the proposed promotions are communicated, planned in and implemented effectively.  Develop efficient promotional processes to ensure each campaign is planned as effectively and links with other wider business processes.
  • Manage and track the promotional spend through delivery partners to meet contractual requirements and business objectives.
  • Support with building business cases for promotions where required.
  • Develop regular reporting and analysis of our always on promotions defining performance criteria with the Pricing and Promotions Manager using BI to visualise data and provide efficient action orientated reporting.
  • Utilise wider business data to assess the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and always on promotions including app data, customer contacts, brand health measures etc.
  • Supporting the Pricing & Promotion Manager where appropriate.
  • Be a system expert user of BI Platform and aggregators analytical tools to maximise the  role of data analytics in decision making. Understanding system settings, leavers and application to analyse across platforms.
  • Own analysis and reporting on price and promotion trials against agreed criteria.
  • Work cross functionally with Marketing team, IT, Retail and finance teams.
  • Be a system expert user of business reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Supporting and training colleagues in utilising Power BI to build efficient analytics and reporting.
  • Managing and maintaining promotional hierarchy and promotional data accuracy to ensure clean and robust data is being used across the business and working with the Power BI and Mast Data Teams to improve accuracy and implementation.
  • Own competitor promotional price checks including providing regular summaries of promotions live in market and mechanics used across channels.

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Are a highly numerate graduate with a strong analytical background, ideally a qualification in A Level Maths
  • Are a confident individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have an ability to work cross-functionally within Greggs
  • Have strong PC skills and an ability to interrogate large amounts of information using Excel
  • Are a logical thinker with excellent problem solving skills
  • Are results focussed with strong planning and organisation skills
  • Have an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously within challenging deadlines
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at all levels whilst maintaining a strong customer focus
  • Have a high level of curiosity in analysing data and identifying relevant data available across the business useful to improving current measuring technique
