We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Category team at Greggs as a Pricing and Promotions Manager. This role will own the pricing and promotions principles across all channels and categories in the business identifying opportunities to drive value.

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you'll do

  • Manage promotional margins against agreed targets driven by Head of Category & Wholesale to maximise promotional profit return for existing deals and measure new deals 
  • Create 1–2-year plans for our prices and deals in line with finance business partners and procurement team to deliver inflation across Greggs using competitor analysis, customer insight and business performance to drive decision making. 
  • Own the pricing structure across all categories to deliver great value to our customers whilst maintaining structural integrity and managing price sensitivity, ensuring simplicity for our customers and identifying opportunities to drive value. 
  • Identify and own pricing and promotion trial requirements, developing the business case in response to the strategy requirements from the Category leads, setting KPIs, delivering the trials and reviewing the trials against KPIs before defining roll out.
  • Works cross-functionally to deliver the agreed price and promotional changes for the business as set out by the Head of Category & Wholesale in line with business requirements on delivering inflation. 
  • Develops and owns the process for implementing new/changing current pricing and promotions, working with key stakeholders in the process to continuously improve the accuracy of delivery. 
  • Develop annual promotional plan across everyday great value deals, channel promotions and tactical promotions using competitor analysis, ATV targets and activation requirements across the menu working in collaboration with new channels, digital marketing, and core estate to drive value to our customers.
  • Creation, delivery, and ownership of shop location ranging in collaboration with shop development and retail- leading creation of business requirement, RFI/RFP, project managing the cost, system, and resource requirements. 
  • PLM SME for the whole team responsible for process change, governance across the team, identification of process changes requirements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supports the delivery of Category plans defined by the Category Lead through PLM and owns the delivery of projects to drive successful category KPIs. 
  • Contributes to a high performing category planning team ensuring collaboration with key internal stakeholders and supports the implementation of new systems and ways of working. 
  • Contribute to business planning and development activities through key business meetings such as ATC and PLM meetings.   

About you

You will fit right into this role if you: 

  • Have food industry experience in either retail or manufacturing, with experience of marketing/buying / category management in food on the go.  

  • Proven commercial acumen with accountability for achieving and excelling company targets 

  • Can demonstrate understanding of what drives prices and promotions including cost and margin 

  • Can demonstrate strong analytical skills, be highly numerate and confident conducting statistical analysis. Ability to analyse complex data and produce financial reporting with confident Excel skills

  • Have a track record of forming and strengthening trusted relationships with business stakeholders 

  • Have excellent written & verbal communication skills and the ability to present ideas and opportunities 

  • Can demonstrate excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail 

  • Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales
