About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role is within our Pennines retail region (Leeds or Manchester) Area.

What you'll do

  • Oversee SHE Management across manufacturing and logistics sites.
  • Work in collaboration with the SHE Management team to deliver ongoing improvement of the SHE Management System, providing relevant and competent input into development.
  • Use your operational experience to help ensure processes are developed with end user consideration.
  • Ensure incident & accident investigations are undertaken and suitable remedial actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Support in objective setting for continuous improvement of SHE standards across sites.
  • Develop and support implementation plans on a site basis, working closely with site management teams to ensure successful deployment.
  • Monitor performance against agreed targets.
  • Lead on culture change and encourage individual responsibility for SHE at all levels.
  • Use management information and data to drive improvement at a site level.
  • Represent the SHE team in senior site management meetings.
  • Work with other site teams to drive a positive SHE culture.

About you

You will fit right into this role if you are:

  • Chartered membership of IOSH
  • Numerate with an ability to work with MS office suite (excel, word etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to innovate around obstacles and problem solve
  • Prepared to travel to cover multiple site locations
  • Able to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the business
  • Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Environmental Management experience
  • Management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) 
  • Fire Risk Assessment qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics operations
