An opportunity has arisen for a Retail Demand Forecasting Manager to join the Forecasting and Replenishment function based in Newcastle. The main focus of the role will be to create and manage retail demand between Greggs shops/Wholesale business and associated bakeries/DCs so that agreed KPI order fulfilment can be achieved at minimum cost. This role which will require a self-motivated individual to help continue to create processes and build relationships with Supply chain, Purchasing, Category and Retail forecasting teams.

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

- The base location for this role is Greggs Head Office in Newcastle, Ideally, you’ll live within one hour travel of this area
What you'll do
- Take a key lead in supporting the continuos development of a demand planning/SOP process.
- Creating and sharing/publishing demand forecasts for all products which are shipped from the DC to shop or customers to achieve sales targets agreeing the forecast horizon and regularity of update.

Incorporating the wholesale forecast process into the main forecasting process with communication with key customers and stakeholders where appropriate to meet customer demand at least cost.
- Supporting OTIF% targets between DC and shop/customer, creating remedial plans for any recurrent issues where supply failures are common.
- Agreeing and understanding safety stocks, shipment distribution(units of measure) at DC level, ensuring that the data is consistently maintained and reviewed to achieve KPI targets.
- Working with various teams to plan stock builds for seasonal events (such as Christmas, Easter, School Holidays etc),
- Incorporating all activity such as new launches, changes in shop distribution, new shops, new channels (ie Just Eat, Click and Collect) and delists into the demand plan.
- Attend weekly demand planning (SOP) meeting in order to improve communication and share understanding of activity and forecasts.
- Be a key player helping to support and implement a demand planning tool across Greggs supply chain.
- Monitoring overall inbound deliveries to shops and evaluating and communicating performance to an agreed OTIF KPI %
- Communicating and escalating any availability risks in supply to the relevant function in the business and working with a wider team to create alternative sources of supply where appropriate
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
- At least 2 years Supply Chain and/or Retail management experience
- Confident individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence at all levels of the business whilst maintaining a strong customer focus.
- An ability to work cross-functionally within Greggs
- Highly numerate with strong IT skills and an ability to analyse information using Excel and Power BI. A knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
- Logical thinker with excellent problem solving skills
- Results focussed with strong planning and organisation skills
- An ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously within challenging deadlines
