About the role
- This is a full-time role

What you'll do
- Identification of the most appropriate manufacturing partners and development of efficient supply chains to maximise efficiency and minimise cost
- Supply contract negotiation consistent with business needs and to ensure optimal conversion costs are maintained
- Co-ordination of both third party and Greggs Purchasing requirements to ensure sufficient raw material is available for all parties through liaison with internal Procurement colleagues for raw materials which are mutual requirements
- Responsible for the sourcing of specialist raw materials which fall outside of the remit of those required for In House production or where not part of existing supplier relationships
- Development of cost improvement supply solutions utilising the capability of the Contract manufacturer to add value where appropriate
- Supplier relationship management to ensure that Production volumes for both Internal demand and External Wholesale requirement are satisfied reflecting the changing requirements as appropriate
- Supplier relationship management to ensure that Quality and Manufacturing standards are appropriate and to manage issue resolution as appropriate
- Continuous management of costing information to reflect the changing raw material prices are reflected in purchase terms in optimal timeframes
- Waste minimisation at end of life for Seasonal / short term production
- Responsible through co-ordination with F&R, Category and Replenishment to plan for capacity and capability with the supplier community to effectively meet forward demand over multiple time periods and Seasonal promotions
- Co-ordination of medium and long term planning to ensure that supplier production capability meets forecasted demand profiles This requires internal liaison between Category, F&R, Supply Chain and Retail as well as external co-ordination
About you
- Experience of supplier relationship management including the analysis and interpretation of MI, performance reporting and issue resolution
- A proven track record of negotiation and cost reduction/value maximisation
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the outsourcing of Internal requirements
- Experience of SAP desirable
- Ability to research key cost drivers and ensure that procurement of items that are affected are undertaken accordingly
- Comfortable with working under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities
- Highly numerate and literate, of graduate calibre with strong analytical skills
- Outstanding planning and organising skills with experience of dealing with multiple tasks simultaneously in a FMCG environment
- Ability to understand and interpret the various economic factors that influence markets
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ideally Ariba, and SAP.
