About the role

  • Management Grade A

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role

  • The base location for this role is flexible however as a Head Office role travel and overnight stays to Greggs House, Newcastle upon Tyne and other Supply Chain sites will be required at times. 

Reporting to the Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a deep dive of our Food safety management systems across the Supply Chain and logistics network, including auditing, review and simplification of our standards and procedures. 
The role requires you to have a strong technical and systems knowledge, excellent communication skills, ability to influence others, highly organised and work independently with minimal supervision. 

The role will involve occasional travel; therefore, flexibility and a full clean driving license is essential. 

What you'll do

  • Lead the review and harmonisation of priority areas of the Food safety management systems across the Supply Chain and Logistics network 

  • Conduct audits of the implementation of all centralised standards and procedures across the sites. 

  • Create action plans to prioritise the key action areas and provide workable solutions for implementation across the sites 

  • Drive continuous improvement whilst ensuring standards of BRC Global Food Standard and Greggs standards are maintained 

  • Engage and consult with Regional Technical Managers to discuss changes, potential impact and solutions. 

  • Work with the Technical Standards team to develop Standards and procedures as required to drive consistency across sites    

  • Proactively work and consult with the technical and cross functional teams across the business to ensure changes are effectively implemented across supply chain and logistics network 

  • Provide KPI reports on the status of key action areas 

About you

We are looking for individuals who are driven, and can demonstrate:

  • A minimum 2 years' experience in food manufacturing or central food retail operations 

  • Excellent knowledge of the BRCGS Food Standard and Quality Management Systems 

  • Have qualifications in HACCP and Food safety at minimum level 3. 

  • Internal audit qualification and experience auditing against the BRCGS food standard 

  • Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales 

  • A result focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
