We have a fantastic opportunity to join the team at Greggs as a Supply Chain Projects Manager, managing warehouse automation elements of major projects and equipment to the value of c. £20m

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role will ideally be in the Midlands, however other locations will be considered 

What you'll do

  • Using project scope/brief, work with Lead Project Manager and Project team members, site team, steering team and consultants to develop automation concepts to URS for both hardware and software requirements
  • Brief and liaise with Greggs insurers and consider/adopt their guidelines, if appropriate
  • Identify and highlight project risks and opportunities
  • Develop preliminary cost estimate and draft overall project timescale
  • Progress quotes from main vendors and feedback these and latest timetable/Gantt chart to Lead PM and update Steering Team/Ops Board/Main Board for approval
  • Progress CEF and approval
  • Appoint main contractor and advise on contractual engagement / performance guarantees
  • Coordinate SAT / FAT process and documentation
  • Manage utilities / equipment design, procurement and installation where appropriate
  • Communicate/identify progress, risks and opportunities with stakeholders
  • Progress Operation and Maintenance Documentation, ensure relevant employees are trained in a timely manager ready for handover
  • Progress hardware and software snags and ensure system is handed over on time and on budget
  • Carry out post-project evaluation to ensure performance criteria is met and retention element paid
  • Review and update Greggs Engineering Specifications documentation based on learnings from project, changes in legislation, etc
  • Ongoing development and review of the Greggs Engineering Specifications documents including incorporation of environmental / sustainability initiatives to support delivery of Greggs Pledge

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Have experience of warehouse automation projects  £5M+ from concept through to hardware and software design, build and post project assessment
  • Have experience with AGV systems
  • Project Management skills, inc use of relevant software, eg Microsoft project.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft office suite
  • Good communication skills: Clear, precise, good listener
  • Ability to work with colleagues at all levels within Greggs, public bodies, contractors and third parties
  • Assertive
  • Literate and numerate
  • Self-starter, completer finisher.
  • Are a membership of relevant institute, i.e., IET, IMechE, etc
  • Have a full driving licence
