About the role
This role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with weekend working on a rotational basis
The role will involve regular travel, overnight stays in other parts of the country will be required. Therefore, flexibility and a full clean driving license is essential.
This is a temporary role for 18 months that can be based anywhere in the UK.

What you'll do
Collecting, collating and communicating KPI data to schedule
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
Leading and contributing to the development and implementation of quality standard operating procedures
Contributing to Retail HACCP teams; reviewing, updating and maintaining HACCP systems and procedures
Investigating and following through non-compliance and incidents relating to enforcement and serious food safety complaints
Liaising with the Regional Technical Manager and Retail team to ensure customer complaints and investigations are handled and completed correctly
Ensuring microbiological sampling and data management is completed as directed
Ensuring allergen controls are appropriate and that labelling is legally compliant
Taking responsibility for raising the standards of hygiene and microbiological performance with operation
Liaising with Pest Control contractors to ensure commitments are met and to raise awareness of issues
Liaising with local Authority Representatives to provide problem resolution
Contributing to training activities where necessary
About you
We are looking for individuals who are driven, and can demonstrate:
A Degree or HNC level education in a Food Science based subject
HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications
Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience working in a technical based food safety role in a production or retail background
Proven experience in investigations and internal audits with strong attention to detail
Proven experience of leadership, decision making and report writing
A result focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
